Lindsey Jacobson

Title: Pathways Student, Engineering
Missions/Projects: Science Strategic Analysis, Human Landing System Technology
Study Topics/Expertise: Design for changeability, engineering design theory and methodology
Lindsey joined the Space Mission Analysis Branch (SMAB) as a Pathways Intern in 2022. Within SMAB, she supports systems engineering and integration activities for the Human Landing System, and she helps develop strategic analysis products for NASA’s Earth Science Division. Prior to joining SMAB, Lindsey was an intern at NASA Headquarters, supporting the James Webb Space Telescope Program.
Lindsey is also an National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellow and Ph.D. student, studying mechanical engineering at North Carolina State University. Her research focuses on design for changeability, and she is specifically interested in how margins help establish changeability in complex systems.
