Toys Along the Path to NASA: An Audio Story

Three smiling people sit around a wooden, circular table. Each person has a microphone in front of them.
Kendall Jones (center) interviewed Emily Mah (left) and Tommy Hallock (right) about their childhood interests. (Thanks to the Media Solutions Branch at NASA Langley for setting up the makeshift audio studio.)

Ever wonder if the toys you played with as a child had some bearing on the career you chose? Kendall Jones, an intern with the Office of Communications at NASA’s Langley Research Center during the summer of 2024, was curious about that too as she got to know many of the engineers, researchers, and other staff at the center. She sat down with two to talk about it and produced this audio story. Meet aerospace engineer Tommy Hallock and visual artist Emily Mah, both with the Systems Analysis and Concepts Directorate.
