High Speed Project

High Speed vehicle research includes developing advanced computer-based prediction methods for supersonic aircraft shape and performance, and developing technologies that will help eliminate today’s technical barriers to practical, commercial supersonic flight. These barriers include sonic boom, supersonic aircraft fuel efficiency, prediction of vehicle control, operation and performance, and the ability to design future vehicles in an integrated, multidisciplinary manner.

ASAB provides system analysis and technology integration support to the HS project, including project planning and decision analysis, technology portfolio analysis, and the development and assessment of advanced supersonic concepts. ASAB also develops design & analysis tools & methods enabling the design of supersonic aircraft that reduce sonic boom noise.
