ABOUT SACD

The Systems Analysis and Concepts Directorate (SACD) conducts studies for the Agency decision makers and programs to provide aerospace systems analysis products such as mission architectures, advanced system concepts, system and technology trades, life cycle cost and risk analysis, system integration and pre-decisional sensitive information to enable informed technical, programmatic and budgetary decisions.

The SACD Office has the responsibility to :
  • Build, maintain and support system analysis personnel and expertise at Langley
  • Continuously acquire and develop the personnel and advanced analysis and design tools required to capture the most advanced technology and costing methodology
  • Expand Center-to-Center alliances in the area of systems analyses. Identify where and how Langley and partners can realize the NASA vision for aeronautics and sustainable human and robotic exploration of space and support the NASA vision
  • Define long-term goals and measures for meeting user and funder needs
  • Participate as a member of the operations, infrastructure, and facilities customer boards
  • Maintain and build market intelligence, technical intelligence, and competitive intelligence in systems analysis.
